Axis of Pakistan policy, ideology or interests?

Foreign policies now a days are based on interests of country. Europe is best example where historical rivals have been united as close friends.
In case of Pakistan, it looks obvious that foreign policy of Pakistan is more based on ideology than national interests.

Keeping all facts and details of war on terror aside. Lets assume that it was a good decision to assist USA in war on terror. But now we have enough result to revise and re-plan.
Almost 8 years have been passed. Pakistan faced most possible bad results as assistant of USA against Al-Qaeda. Bad effects are there in almost all fields. So instead of following any 'anti' ideology. It is time to once again re-visit our national interests.
To win hearts of people (people also include tribal areas natives), and to send better message of Al-Qaeda operatives. Pakistan should quit assistance of USA in war on terror. After that any policy or operation against militant activities in Pakistan would have solid base and public support.
Let me say that USA think tanks are with more dangerous policy for world as compared to Al-Qaeda. US profile of killings, bombing and wars is enough to prove my point. Whole conclusion is that Al-Qaeda is not a vilian and USA is not a hero. Their policies assign them any role and Pakistan policy makers ahould consider ground realities instead of thinking with impressed mind.
