Prisoner No. 650 Dr Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani PhD. Having 144 honorary degrees and certificates in the field of neurology from different institutes of the world. She is the only Neurologist In the world having honorary Ph.d from Harvard University. Dr. Aafia is Hafiza-e-Quraan and Aalima. Not even a single American matches her qualifications.
She was kidnapped from Karachi along with her 3 children in 2003. This operation was performed by FBI with help of authorities in Pakistan. She was transferred to notorious Bagram jail in Afghanistan without any legal process or channel. First there was no information provided by US or Pakistan to her family. Later she was charged for alleged connection with Al-Qaeda.
Her case was highlighted when a British journalist told the world about brutalities with prisoner # 650 in Bagram jail. The said prisoner # 650 was Dr. Aafia. There she was imprisoned with men under extreme conditions. To cope the international pressure US forces staged a drama to involve her in so called attack on US forces. Now she is in US prison being prosecuted for fake charges against her. Several loop holes have been pointed in her prosecution in US court. Dr. Aafia has now damaged memory, due to physical and mental torture.
Muslim Umma is dead and dormant over this issue. If we cannot do anything, but we can protest and highlight the issue and violation of human rights in this case. Put her case on blogs and sites. Just forward this through mail and pray for her.
Do not let the case buried in several issues and non issues around us.
